MIGAM LAUNCHES OMMI.IO TO HELP IN REMOTE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Migam, a Polish start-up company that has been helping the Deaf people to communicate with companies and authorities for several years, has launched Ommi.io, a platform that allows for remote service to be rendered for all customers via video calls. The technology, which was previously used to translate Polish into the Polish Sign Language, has already found its way into remote kitchen design.

Migam is a Polish startup company offering solutions that enable companies, authorities, institutions, and organisations to communicate with Deaf people using, among other things, video calls. The company employs professional sign language interpreters who assist in dealing with everyday matters by providing interpretation into the Polish Sign Language. The company also offers translations of documents, films, and TV programmes into PJM [Polish Sign Language].

Founded in 2011 by Przemysław Kuśmierek, Migam has thus far, thanks to its team, handled over 150,000 video calls. The solutions offered by the company are already used by more than150 entities from various industries. These include: BNP Paribas, Credit Agricole, ING, Orange, Samsung and T-Mobile.

Now, the technology, which helps the Deaf people to communicate, will also help companies to provide service to all their customers. Drawing on its experience, Migam has created Ommi.io, an online sales platform that allows for video calls between customers, consultants, and sales specialists.

Ommi.io is not just about the video calls feature, which every communicator offers today, but it also offers a variety of additional tools which facilitate the presentation of products or offers and improve the sales process itself. These include a screen-sharing function, the ability to invite another specialist to the call, registration of customer and order data, call recording, and video identification of the customer with facial biometrics. Ommi.io will soon also receive a new feature for remote contract signing using the electronic signature.

The solution works especially well for the sale of products and services that previously required personal contact between the customer and the salesperson or a visit to the showroom. From insurance and financial services to the sale of bicycles and larger electronic equipment, to the sale, rental, or even leasing of cars. Video calls can reduce the number of visits to showrooms or company branches to the bare minimum or eliminate them.

Ommi.io is already used by the well-known furniture and interior accessories chain of sales showroom Agata S.A. The solution offered by Migam, was used by the brand to introduce a new solution for its customers in the form of the possibility to design a kitchen online, with professional help from designers.

“Based on the information obtained during a video call, our specialists develop a visualisation of the kitchen using the elements selected by the customer from our offer: from furniture, through household appliances, to necessary accessories. Also during the video call, customers of Agata Showrooms can place an order for their new kitchen, thus carrying out the entire process practically without leaving the house. The new solution, introduced thanks to our cooperation with the Migam startup, became very popular among our clients within the first few days of its implementation,” says Jakub Madej, Sales Director for kitchen furniture studios at Agata S.A.

“Since the beginning of 2020, companies are facing a great deal of unpredictability. But one thing we can be sure of. The web is now the most important sales channel, especially in industries most affected by the lockdown. For many sectors and in the case of many products, getting in touch with a consultant before going through with the purchase is still a must. At Migam, for several years we have been using technology that allows Deaf people to communicate with companies or authorities in sign language. And now help all customers. The results so far show that Ommi.io works and that customers appreciate the fast, remote, yet reliable service. We believe there will be an even greater need for our solutions. As concluded in a study conducted by McKinsey, up to 80 percent of shoppers prefer to shop remotely. They praise the ease of conducting meetings, the level of safety and security as well as convenience”, says Przemysław Kuśmierek, the founder and CEO of Migam.
