MIGAM HELPS DEAF UKRAINIAN REFUGEES

The Polish company Migam has been providing professional online interpreting into PJM (Polish Sign Language) for years. It already provides services for over 400 public institutions and companies.
As of March 1, 2022, the free online connection service for the Deaf residents of Ukraine has been launched. For this, any device which can be connected to the Internet and has a camera will do.
The service is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

“We are shocked and outraged by Russia’s war against Ukraine. Every country has its sign language and Deaf Ukrainians need us now more than ever”. – says Przemyslaw Kuśmierek, the President of Migam. “We have already hired four people on employment contracts to handle the panel and incoming calls, while the operators themselves are located in Gora Kalwaria, Gubin, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Warsaw. We are looking for more interpreters to work with us. We stand with you! May this war end quickly with a victory for Ukraine. Glory to Ukraine!”, he concludes.
Migam offers free access to interpreters to the widest possible group of entities and institutions. First and foremost, those directly involved in the reception of Ukrainians who are fleeing their country. The company wants to help the administrative bodies, local government units, border services, medical services, and volunteers. Simply anyone who will need the assistance of an interpreter to communicate.

Deaf people can use an online interpreter to report any issue to hearing Poles they meet in person, or interpreters can call a designated number and participate in the conversation.
