Migam S.A. is now a member of the WHO Disability Health Equity Network, hosted by the World Health Organization, for the period June 2026 - June 2028.
The Network unites governments, NGOs, academia, and private sector organizations under one goal: closing the avoidable health gaps between persons with disabilities and the broader population. It supports the implementation of WHA Resolution 74.8 on the highest attainable standard of health for persons with disabilities.
WHO estimates that 1.3 billion people live with significant disability - and communication barriers in healthcare are among the most persistent causes of health inequity for Deaf people. Our work on sign language technology, including AI-driven translation between sign and spoken languages, targets exactly this gap: making healthcare communication accessible at scale, wherever a human interpreter isn't immediately available.
Joining the Network connects our technology roadmap to the global health equity agenda. We look forward to contributing our expertise in Deaf communication and accessible technology to the Network's workstreams - and to building solutions informed by the world's leading disability health community.
